“For me, it’s all about helping women have an equal opportunity in the business world.”
Take risks, go for it. To Independent Executive National Sales Director Sherry Giancristoforo, her Mary Kay business is not just work. It’s been an adventure from the start.
In the 1970s, she left her nursing career to pursue Mary Kay at a time when many women were just beginning to enter the work force. Then she became a single parent at age 28, raising two children for 15 years, and ultimately providing a "dream wedding" for her daughter, Jessica, all with her Mary Kay commissions.
"Once I decided on Mary Kay, I never looked back, not for a second," says Sherry. "If you desire something badly enough, you will pay the price. And the price is total commitment. You have to go for it!"
"I think many women today lack the faith in themselves to take risks with their careers. I hope to continue to instill confidence and inspire other women, just as Mary Kay Ash inspired me. I am so grateful she had the courage to start a business at the end of her first career. This helped me believe in myself and showed me how important it is to step out on faith and take risks."
"For me, it’s all about helping women have an equal opportunity in the business world. It may sound like a feminist point of view, however, it’s really a family point of view."
